Why talk about them?
Getting to know and understand the funeral traditions of some of the communities living in Québec can help gain a better understanding of the people in our neighborhoods.
Over the years, Le repos Saint-Francois d’Assise has collected a great deal of information about bereavement and mourning, and the problems and process of dealing with this difficult time both for the family of the deceased, as well as for the people who are there to help them. This knowledge allows us to be more respectful of the bereaved families, regardless of their origin. We hope that this series of articles on some lesser-known funeral traditions will help give you a new understanding as well.
